SSM - StarSECURITY Module

The Star Secure Access Module is targeted at institutions that want to have a Unique PIN verification for customer authentication at multiple channels of transaction. It verifies the PIN entered by the customer during his transaction at a web or any other mode of transaction. The machine resides at the Switch end since it has to interact with the switch database to validate the customer card and then interact with Hardware Security device to verify the PIN.

The key feature of the Star Secure Access Module (SSM) is its ability to do a unique PIN verification for requests coming from multiple channels. Its uniqueness is that a customer can use his ATM card and his own ATM PIN for customer authentication in a Web transaction, which is normally not done in a Web-based transaction. The customer can use a unique PIN for transactions across any channel. He does not have to bear the burden of remembering the different usernames and passwords for transactions at different channels.
